a.P.A.t.T. wears white, but the music is colourful.
Still mounting a dedicated assault on 21st century music expectations, a.P.A.t.T. has drawn comparisons with Devo, Gentle Giant, Cardiacs, and Stock Aitken & Waterman - without sounding much like any of them. The band that may perform with its own orchestra, plays the toilet tour on Monday, art installation at Southbank Centre on Tuesday, we were making love by Wednesday. 'Stretched, compressed and cut-up time signatures are aligned with frothing bass lines, renaissance era organ, harpsichord stabs and jerky fright shouted vocals. On stage they cause gravity to shimmer – seriously, you can see it like a heat haze'. - Get Into This

2017 is to be a busy international year for the band, including the Rock in Opposition festival (FR) alongside Gong and Faust, touring the EU in April and September and the forthcoming re-release of Fun With Music in CD format with AltrOck (IT), with whom the band recently signed. The significance of the band's multi-media work has been recognised with an exciting two-year cultural partnership with Edge Hill University, featuring commissions with partners such as Sound City music festival (27 May).

In their 2016 album Fun with Music (Pickled Egg), 'Liverpool's multi-genre veterans' (The Skinny) a.P.A.t.T. have condensed their vision-quest into 45 minutes of hooky, style-busting material. The BBC's Stuart Maconie described it as... 'their most accessible yet...in a freaky kinda way'. BBC Radio 1 also awarded a.P.A.t.T. 'Album of the Week' for Black & White Mass (Pickled Egg).

The act's other records (5 albums, three EPs and a number of singles) have been released through Cargo, Upset the Rhythm, Pickled Egg, ! a N G R r ! and POSTMUSIC.

a.P.A.t.T. are working with Udi Koomran (Soft Machine, Ariel Pink, Present) on new forthcoming material to be released on AltrOck (IT) and Pickled Egg (UK)

a.P.A.t.T. has toured and played with the esteemed artists Daniel Johnston, Secret Chiefs 3, Sax Ruins, R. Stevie Moore, Charles Hayward, Lightning Bolt, Icy Demons, Y.A.C.H.T., Acid Mothers Temple, The Locust, Upsilon Acrux, and the Sun Ra Arkestra.
